LEGAL COUNSEL
The job:
• You will be working in a small team where your will be very diverse and broad, giving advice on legal matters arising from the daily business and providing legal support to the management and all other departments
• You will be responsible for drafting and reviewing of documents (contracts, settlement agreements, client letters/mails, T&C and internal / external policies/regulations and guidelines, etc.)
• Direct contact to the authorities and representing the legal department in regulatory projects and initiatives
• Handling various different client complaints, claims and litigation cases for the bank, including direct contact with law firms both here and abroad
• Handling internal corporate matters (risk for the financial reporting, commercial register changes, checking internal regulations, policies and guidelines, etc.) and the monitoring of the Swiss and international regulatory developments.
The requirements:
• Swiss law degree and Swiss bar exam or an international Law degree with many years of experience working in a Swiss bank
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an international law firm (covering financial services) or within the legal department of a financial institution
• Fluency in German and English
• Knowledge of financial products and good business savvy
• Good regulatory knowledge in banking law and contract law
• Good understanding compliance issues
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and set priorities
• A strong communicator with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
